Miss Kitty's House of Cosmic Love
Miss Kitty's House of Cosmic Love was an interactive art event in which actors led audience members on a journey through various exhibits, in which they were invited to play and participate. The event was co-produced by Virginia Stage Company and the Hermitage Museum and Gardens.
The director's vision was one part Old West brothel, one part 70's glam rock, and one part genderbent futurism.
Concept art was developed before casting. Actor's sizes and availability of stock costume pieces was the most influential factor in final designs. The on piece we knew from the start would be used was a mirror head created by one of the artists featured in the exhibit.
