The Whale
Produced at Generic Theatre in spring of 2017.
The clear pièce de résistance of the show was the fatsuit. As fatsuits are usually a comedy device, and Samuel D. Hunter's play had only been produced and photographed a handful of times up to the time of Generic's production, I had very few resources on how the suit ought to be constructed. This ultimately led to directly referencing photos of real human bodies, and experimenting with padding placement.
The result was a suit that looked remarkably realistic and moved naturally with the actor's body.
